We are here to help and support you. You will find on this website many links to answer your questions and places who offer assistance in many different areas.

You can also make an appointment with your guidance counsellor during your study period or if you do not have a study period, select a time that is easier for you to miss class. To book an appointment write you name in the binder of your guidance counsellor for the day and time you would like to meet.

Prom dresses have been donated by community members. Students in need are asked to contact their guidance counsellor.

The Canadian Sea Turtle Network ( is dedicated to conserving endangered sea turtles in Canadian waters and beyond. It runs both scientific research and educational outreach programs. They are looking for a Sea Turtle Field Assistant who will help as a deckhand on the sea turtle research boat in July and August. Applicants must be comfortable working at sea in a physically demanding environment, comfortable working an unpredictable schedule and sometimes long hours. Previous demonstrated experience on boats (for work or pleasure) required.

Youth Ambassadors Program with Canada brings together youth (aged 15 to 18 years old) and adult mentors from Canada to promote mutual understanding, increase leadership, and prepare youth to make a difference in their communities.  It is an intensive program that takes place from July 16 through August 4, 2018, and is carried out in Ottawa, New York state, and Washington, DC.  Participants have all travel, meal, and accommodation costs during the exchange covered by the program, in addition to health benefits with limitations provided in the USA. Ministrer's Entrepreneurship Award of Excellence:  Students in grades 6 to 12 who are interest in entrepreneurship aare invited to apply for this award, offering students an opprortunity to receive a $1,000 grant to help lauch their idea/business in addition to mentorship by a Nova Scotia business person. Deadline February 26, 2018.

NS/NU Command 2018 Youth Legion Leadership Training Camp June 23 to July 1, 2018. This camp is to offer students a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills. Must be in Grade 10 or 11. Deadline to apply April 30th, 2018.

Berridge Programs is an acting program for students age 14-19. It takes place during the summer in Normandy, France. Scholarships are available

Encounters with Canada 2017-18 1 week in Ottawa to explore a of 14 themes that students are interested in. They have some promotional discounts until May 1st.

Humanities for Young People (HYP) is a residential summer program that will give students a taste of university life, and encourage their interests in literature, philosophy, history, politics, and arts. July 7-25, 2018 Students ages 15-17. $975 Deadline May 18, 2018
